Rain played spoilsport on day 1 of the first Test between India and South Africa which is why the umpires had to call off play before the final session. Weather will once again be in the focus on the second day with India set to resume their innings at 202 for no loss.
There is 60 per cent chance of rain on Thursday in Vizag, a little less than what it was on Wednesday. Overhead conditions are expected to remain cloudy throughout the day with thunderstorms predicted at around 5pm IST.

The new Test opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal batted with caution in the first hour before taking on the Proteas bowlers with India managing to score 91 runs in the first session and 111 runs in the second to end the day at 202 for no loss in 59.1 overs.
Rohit completed his fourth Test hundred and was unbeaten on 115 with Agarwal 84 not out - his best score in the format - when bad light forced an early tea break.
Rohit, who is replacing KL Rahul at the top of the order in this series, could not have hoped for a more benign pitch to begin his journey as a test opener with both the fast bowlers and spinners from South Africa failing to make any impact.
Visiting pace duo of Kagiso Rabada and Vernon Philander beat the bat on a few occasions with the new ball and those were the only moments of discomfort that the right-handed batting pair encountered.
